I had a fun year in Buffalo, but I had a cloud hanging over my head. I kept wondering ‘What if I had moved to Tampa?’ I kept thinking about the warm weather, beaches, night life, all the reasons I originally wanted to move down there. After a week in my new Buffalo apartment I was already regretting the decision and beating myself up for it. I felt like I missed the boat and was watching it sail away.
The new year has arrived and everyone is making their resolutions. I already wrote my stance on all that here so I’m not going to dig into it again. A lot of people, filled with motivation and drive, will get a gym membership. They will go religiously for a couple weeks, maybe even a month, then lose their focus. They’ll start making excuses about how they don’t have the time or energy to do it. Their gym membership will collect dust, in a sense, and it’s likely they’ll never use it.
I wanted to do something fun and different this week. I was thinking about how everyone who works out, whether they are at the gym or going for a run, enjoys listening to music. The music you listen to can say a lot about your personality or just what genres and artists you like. It’s fun to share with others what your favorite tracks are because music is something that brings people together. The amazing thing about music is how each song can make you feel a certain way. It can bring out emotions based on when you heard it or what it makes you reminisce about.
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has helped contribute to Hustle Planet. Whether you read a couple articles, follow us on Instagram, or subscribe to us on WordPress, it is very much appreciated. I have big plans for this website and without you all viewing my content none of it would work.
The holidays are a great time of year. Friends, family, and co-workers gather together and bond with each other. People tend to be in a better mood and there’s a different feeling in the air. Another common theme is to make a new year’s resolution. A lot of us brush this under the rug, myself included, because I’ve always thought it was pretty lame.
I was watching boxing with a couple friends on a Saturday night last week, something I enjoy doing when I have the opportunity. There were some great fighters with a lot of charisma and the matches were all good. However, there was one fighter who really stood out to me as they were telling his story. They introduced him as Tyson Fury: The Gypsy King.
Cognitive Dissonance is defined as the ‘mental discomfort, or psychological stress, experienced by a person who simultaneously holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values.’ This is a concept I learned in Psychology 101 that stuck with me over the years. I also see it pop up in articles and books from time to time. Last weekend was Thanksgiving and I was thinking about all the things I’m thankful for.
