People Who Inspire Me: Sir Richard Branson

I have never liked working for others, that’s a fact. I got my first job when I was 16 working for a guy who did a lot of odd jobs. Mowing lawns, installing docks, shrink-wrapping boats, things like that. I had a few other manual labor jobs because that’s the best I could get as a teenager and the pay was decent. I never had a great work ethic because these jobs were not careers to me, they were temporary jobs to help me pay for college and other expenses. People Who Inspire Me: Chuck Norris

One of the first big role models I had growing up was Chuck Norris. The Chuck Norris ‘Facts’ came out around 2006 when I was in middle school. I didn’t know much about the man, other than he was a famous martial artist, movie actor, and tough guy. My friends and I would sit around the lunch table and exchange our favorite ‘Facts’ and got into the whole Chuck Norris hysteria that became a pop culture phenomenon. I had a fun year in Buffalo, but I had a cloud hanging over my head. I kept wondering ‘What if I had moved to Tampa?’ I kept thinking about the warm weather, beaches, night life, all the reasons I originally wanted to move down there. Why Exercise is the Best Gift You Can Give Yourself

The new year has arrived and everyone is making their resolutions. I already wrote my stance on all that here so I’m not going to dig into it again. A lot of people, filled with motivation and drive, will get a gym membership. They will go religiously for a couple weeks, maybe even a month, then lose their focus. They’ll start making excuses about how they don’t have the time or energy to do it. Their gym membership will collect dust, in a sense, and it’s likely they’ll never use it.
